Apple Turnover - The iBook iPad Retrofit

Bringing back Apple’s golden age of style and nostalgia.

Bringing the iBook G3 back to life with current tech

What started out as a hobby/project for himself, Billy Skipper Hughes decided to document the process and post it to his very small audience (just barely double-digit followers). No teasers, no boosting, just post one video that showed his whole process from start to finish. The video went viral, with hundreds of comments asking where to purchase one, and the seed was planted. He then spent the next 6 months perfecting the process to be repeatable and user-friendly by testing, designing, printing, re-fitting, hundreds of different parts, configurations, and 3D printed models. That brings us to today! Welcome to the place to purchase one of these VERY limited vintage iBook iPad cases!

Features

The iBook iPad Conversion is made up of several parts to note. The first, and biggest variable, is the iBook G3 itself. I start with using an existing iBook G3, that I disassemble all electronics, display, and top case so we’re left with just the shell. From there, I install 3D printed parts for the frame, iPad tray holder, and keyboard top case.

The case currently ONLY fits the 11” iPad Pro (2nd and 3rd Gen), and the 10.9” iPad Air (4th and 5th Gen).
